YOUR FIRST VISIT
Your first appointment at Murphy Frazier Chiropractic will last approximately 45 to 60 minutes. The first visit will involve some simple paperwork, a consultation with the doctor to determine if your condition is likely to be helped with chiropractic care, followed by a thorough orthopedic and neurological examination. If indicated, x-rays of your spine or extremity may be recommended, and performed at a local medical facility to be reviewed by radiologists.
Knowledge Is PowerYour doctor will evaluate the results of your examinations, review your x-rays (if taken), recommend a treatment program (unique to your individual needs) and answer your questions. Once you feel that you have a complete understanding of your condition and the benefits of chiropractic care for your condition, you and your doctor will schedule the necessary treatment plan necessary – often utilizing chiropractic adjustments – for you to enjoy better health.
Will I Get “Adjusted”?
The words “chiropractic adjustment” describe using a carefully directed and controlled pressure to restore your spinal bones to a more normal position or motion. When your spinal function is improved, your health can improve, too. Depending on your condition, we may utilize specific gentle, effective adjustment techniques to help bring your body into greater balance.
We will likely recommend an individualized treatment program for you – utilizing physical therapy and massage or laser therapy – to assist in your healing process. Therapeutic spinal-flexibility and strengthening exercises will be introduced early in treatment to help stabilize the spine, and assist in supporting the chiropractic adjustments.
Your chiropractor will focus on reducing or removing any interference to your own inborn healing abilities. Chiropractic philosophy recognizes that the power to heal is within you, and our job is to eliminate any interference to your body’s natural state of health.
